a lifetime, assisting them to focus in on their best options and finding solutions that fit clients’

lifestyle and needs.

Formerly Chair and Secretary of Realtors® of Central Colorado, Margy is well-versed in the

sometimes complicated aspects of home ownership in the area, including right to ranch issues,

wells and septic systems, grazing leases, and water law, to name a few.

Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Margy moved to Salida in 2016 after living in Louisville,

Kentucky for 30 years. Her interests include skiing, hiking, bicycling, cooking, reading, and

most importantly, family.

Margy has a PhD in Organizational Development, and her dissertation topic is Risk Taking and

Innovation, all about healthy risk taking. She holds an undergraduate degree in Economics

from Brown University, and a Master’s degree in Education from University of Cincinnati. Her

real estate education includes several designations, including Graduate Real Estate Institute,

Senior Real Estate Specialist, Certified Aging in Place Specialist, and Certified Luxury Home

Specialist. As a person who loves to learn, she strives to pursue a wide array of continuing

education which includes many more hours than required, and she is currently pursuing a MFA

in Interior Architecture and Design.

Previous careers include founding and running retail stores (Clay & Cotton and Bluebird Day

Mercantile) in Louisville, Kentucky, St. Louis, Missouri, and Salida. Clay & Cotton is celebrating

20 years in business (under new ownership) as of March 2024. Margy was the principal of a

school for several years. She also taught early childhood education as well as graduate

students in leadership and strategic planning.
